ZIL 118K

Sunday 2 August 2015
The ZiL-118 Yunost (Youth) was a microbus built by Zavod imeni Likhachova (Russian: Завод имени Лихачёва, Factory named for Likhacov), or ZiL.
Based on the ZIL-111 limousine, the ZiL-118 Yunost (Youth) was developed in 1965, on the factory's own initiative. Only 20 were built because of a lack of interest of government. The few built were solely to special order, with a number as high-capacity ambulances. An updated version appeared in 1970 in several versions: the 118K coach 118KS ambulance, both using the ZIL 508.10 V8 from ZiL trucks.
The 118 was further facelifted in the 1980s, becoming the ZiL 3207. Production ended in 1994, with total number built, of the 118K/KS and 3207, reaching only 86.

Technical data:
- engine: V8
- capacity: 5980 cc
- horsepower: 95 HP
- gearbox: 4+1

ZIL 111G

Sunday 8 September 2013
After unsuccessful tests with the prototype ZIL-Moscow in 1956 the ZIL-111 was introduced from ZIL in 1958. The styling was inspired by the mid-1950s Packard, a United States automobile manufacturer. It was powered by a 6.0 L V8 engine producing 200 hp (150 kW) connected to an automatic transmission (a copy of Chrysler's PowerFlite) giving a top speed of 170 km/h (106 mph).
Apart from a basic version ZiL-111, there was produced ZiL-111A with air conditioning (it had a smaller and flatter rear window due to air tubes) and convertible ZiL-111V (ЗиЛ-111В in Russian, only 12 made).
In December 1962 the car was restyled and it was available both as sedan ZiL-111G (example pictured below right) and convertible ZiL-111D (only 8 made). The front styling of this car very closely resembled the U.S. Cadillac from 1961-62, and out back it had dual-unit taillights resembling an early-Sixties Mercury. For U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower's visit, E. Molchanov designed a special version. A minibus version called ZiL-118 Yunost (Youth) was also developed, on factory's own initiative, but only 20 were built because of a lack of interest of government.
As a rule, the ZiL-111 was available only for members of the Politburo. In 1958-1967 only 112 of all models were made, in this only 26 ZiL-111G.

Technical data:
- engine: V8
- capacity: 5980 cc
- horsepower: 200 HP

ZIL 41047

Sunday 3 April 2011
ZIL-41047 is a limousine built by ZIL of Russia. Production of ZIL models completely stopped after their customers have turned to more modern models of limousines.
It has seven seats including the driver. When loaded it weighs 3,550 kg (7,826 lb). The top speed with two persons is listed as "not less than 190 km/h (118 mph)". It is powered by a 7.7 L (469 cubic inch) carbureted V8 of ZIL's own design giving 232 kW (315 hp) at 4,600 revs per minute. This engine drives the rear wheels via a three-speed automatic transmission with the following ratios:
First gear: 2.02:1
Second gear: 1.42:1
Third gear: 1:1
Reverse: 1.42:1
It replaced the ZIL-4104 in 1985 and had virtually no mechanical changes compared with that model. The only major changes have been in the styling, which in some respects, notably in the rear-view mirrors, was subtly modernised compared to the styling of previous ZIL models. The front turn indicators were also modernised, with the rectangular horizontal line giving way to a more vertically-oriented, door-like shape. The front headlights were also restyled, as was the rear parcel shelf. The car is so wide that the centre console can stand parallel to the gear selector.

Technical data:
- engine: V8
- capacity: 7700 cc
- horsepower: 315 HP
- gearbox: 3+1
- top speed: 190 km/h

ZIL 111

Friday 18 March 2011
After unsuccessful tests with the prototype ZIL-Moscow in 1956 the ZIL-111 was introduced from ZIL in 1959. The styling was inspired by the mid-1950s Packard, a United States automobile manufacturer. It was powered by a 6.0 L V8 engine producing 200 hp (150 kW) connected to an automatic transmission giving a top speed of 170 km/h (106 mph).

The front styling of this car very closely resembled the U.S. Cadillac from 1961-62[citation needed], and out back it had dual-unit taillights resembling an early-Sixties Mercury. For then-U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower's visit, E. Molchanov designed a special version. A minibus version called ZiL-118 Yunost (Youth) was also developed, on factory's own initiative, but only 20 were built because of a lack of interest of government.
